On-Site Generation - Electrochlorination

DC current is passed through the saline solution.  The anode oxidizes the chloride irons to produce CL2 while the cathode reduces the water to produce an NaOH solution plus hydrogen H2.  The chlorine reacts with the NaOH solution to produce NaOCL.

WestWater Enterprises are the sole agents and distributors for the Severn Trent Services range of Electrochlorination products.

Brine

Severn Trent is the market leader in the on-site generation of sodium hypochlorite from fresh water, having over 3,000 installations worldwide.  Their ChlorTec on-site sodium hypochlorite generating systems range in capacity from 0.9 to 1,360 + kg/day of chlorine equivalent and generate a 0.8% sodium hypochlorite solution using three common consumables: salt, water and electricity. Depending on application or site specific needs, ChlorTech systems are available as skid-mounted or component –based systems.  The skid mounted systems are fully operational and generating sodium hypochlorite in less than 24hrs

Seawater

Sanilec and Seaclor for the on-site generation of hypochlorite from raw seawater have demonstrated reliable, economic and low maintenance operation in numerous installation through the world.  Sanilec and Seaclor systems range in capacity from 1.2 to 21,6000kg/day, per train.

Seaclor systems are the standard and preferred electrochlorination unit for biofouling control in power plants, cooling towers, liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals and desalination facilities, as well as coastal installations using sweater for cooling or other process needs all over the world.
